For Iowans who have to drive into Nebraska City, Nebraska on a regular basis, this will be good news. Iowa Highway 2 opened again Monday after Missouri River floodwaters left it unpassable for more than four months. Detouring around the closure added an hour to the trip for those who commute between Iowa and Nebraska City regularly. Area retailers are estimated to have lost 30 percent of their regular business during the closure.
