The Iowa parole board's turned down a request from Heidi Anfinson to be released today. Anfinson was sent to prison for the 1998 death of her baby, whose body was found in a lake near Des Moines. KCCI reports Anfinson pleaded guilty in 2009 to child endangerment charges and was sentenced to 50 years in prison. She'd already served nine years for a previous 50-year sentence for second-degree murder when the Iowa Supreme Court granted her a new trial.
