Pella Job Cuts

Pella Corporation announced Thursday it plans to close its plant in South Carolina and ask workers in its Iowa plants to retire or voluntarily leave. Pella said the West Columbia, S.C., plant will close by the end of December. It currently employs 147 people.
The company said that it is also offering incentives for employees to retire or voluntarily leave the workforce at its operations in Carroll, Shenandoah, Sioux Center and Pella. Incentives are also being offered at Pella’s manufacturing sites in Macomb, Ill. and Portland, Ore.
