West Des Moines' Phenix Elementary School's been named Iowa’s healthiest K-12 school at the third annual Healthy Iowa Awards. The Des Moines Register reports the awards are presented by Academy for a Healthy Iowa. The school promotes a healthy living through several initiatives, including classroom time on where vitamins and minerals come from, as well as a half hour of physical activity every week.
