Carlisle's won a $460,000 grant from the Vision Iowa Board to help build a nature trail loop. The Des Moines Register reports just over 3-miles of the trial would be built in Carlisle, and it would link the Summerset Trail to the Scotch Ridge Nature Park. It will eventually provide a commuter route to downtown Des Moines. Carlisle's already got the rest of the $2.5-million total needed from other sources.
