Kraft Foods in Mason City says it will lay off as many as 50 full-time workers there in December. Kraft Corporate says external conditions caused the layoffs, as did the plant's being too efficient, and the seasonal work there. Kraft says it will start cutting back on workers, and there are two planned plant shutdowns, one for a week this month and one for a week next month.
