12-Hour Standoff Comes To An End...

This morning, a nearly twelve-hour standoff, in Manning, came to an end after authorities used four cans of tear gas to flush a man out of his house.
David Wurr, of 347 Madison St., was taken to St. Anthony Hospital for treatment.
According to Police, Wurr's relatives asked them to check on him and, when police arrived, Wurr displayed a handgun.
According to an official press release, "Officers attempted to negotiate with Wurr, with the negotiation failing," "Wurr then barricaded (himself) in the residence and refused to come out or give up his firearms."
According to Police, Wurr fired several shots at officers during the standoff and Iowa State Patrol attempted to negotiate with Wurr for several hours. Finally, around 7:30, this morning, police fired tear gas containers into the house, flushing Manning out. No officers were injured were injured during the standoff.
