Iowa lawmakers have struck a deal on this years' funding for 36 workforce development centers. KCCI reports the compromise keeps the $8.7 million approved last year and prevent the closing of any more offices this year. The package is scheduled to be approved by the House Appropriations Committee later this week. Iowa's Supreme Court ruled Gov. Branstad went too far in vetoing part of agency's funding, and closing the 36 offices.
