A woman was taken to Mercy Medical after she was shot in a drive-by this morning near 18th and University. Ronnetta McCaughey and a friend were walking south on 18th when someone in the back seat of a car opened fir on them. McCaughey was hit in the left shoulder, but authorities tell the Des Moines Register the wound wasn't life threatening. Police say neither McCaughey nor her friend know the people in the car.
