Catholic Bishops Call the Faithful to Battle Federal Health Mandates

Iowa's four Catholic Bishops of Iowa have written a joint statement calling on Iowa Catholics to devote their Lenten prayer, abstinence, and fasting next Friday to resolving their religious liberty concerns over implementing federal health care mandates. According to the Des Moines Register, the Bishops say this disputes not about access to contraceptives but the government’s forcing the Church to provide them.
