Community's are rushing to put in an electric barrier in hopes it'll stop Asian silver carp from heading up the Little Sioux River and into a small creek connected to Lower Gar Lake, the southernmost of the chain of glacial lakes. The Des Moines Register reports last fall Missouri River flooding allowed Asian silver carp to make their way up to Elk Lake and Lost Island Lake and just below Trumbull Lake, all south of the Iowa Great Lakes.
