This morning, a fallen tree branch hit power lines crossing Center Point Road and McCloud Drive in Cedar Rapids.
According to Fire Department officials, the power outage will run all the way to First Avenue.
Alliant crews arrived on the scene just after 10am to fix the issue, but there is no word on how long it may take.
A police car is blocking one lane of Center Point Road, and the area between M Avenue and K Avenue may experience closures until the problem is resolved.
