School Bus drivers in some of Iowa's largest school districts either are facing charges or have been convicted in the past decade of driving drunk, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and careless driving. Most drivers here have only minor traffic violations on their records. The Des Moines Register reports background checks aren't required for bus drivers, but the governor's expected to sign a bill requiring them.
