Vote on MidAmerican Nuke Bill Called Off

It may be next week before legislation allowing MidAmerican Energy to go ahead with plans to build a nuclear power plant in Iowa. A plan to vote on the bill in the Senate Commerce Committee today was called off when the committee's chairman canceled the meeting because didn't have enough votes to get it out of committee. AARP and environmental groups have been pushing legislators to kill the plan.
