Nebraska Filmmaker Convicted in Film Program Case

A Polk County jury today convicted Dennis Brouse of fraud, for getting tax credits under a program aimed at building Iowa's film industry. Brouse, who's from Nebraska, faces up to 12 years in prison on the fraudulent practices conviction. KCCI reports Brouse's company made TV shows and DVDs related to horse training. Prosecutors say the company got tax credits of over $9 million for the projects.
