Red Light Speed Camera Bill Back

The bill banning red light and speed cameras popped up today in a hearing a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. The Des Moines Register reports if the bill passes, cities with the cams, including Des Moines, would have to take 'em down. Opponents say the cameras infringe on civil liberties, presume guilt rather than innocence and take us closer to a surveillance state. The bill's next stop the full House Appropriations Committee.
