Opponents and supporters of same-sex marriage lobbied the State Senate today. Iowa Family Leader Bob Vander Plaats presented 20,000 petition signatures for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman. Supporters of marriage equality had their own rally, and KCCI reports State Sen. Matt McCoy says Vander Plaats needs to get a real job instead of working to spread a message of hate and discrimination.
