Feds Award DART $2-million for New Buses

Sen. Tom Harkin's office says the U.S. Transportation Department's awarded $2.1 million to the Des Moines Regional Transit Authority to buy six new transit buses to replace older models. The Des Moines Register reports the new buses, which will be 40-foot, heavy-duty models, equipped with surveillance systems. The award is from the federal “State of Good Repair Program.”
