For the first time since the late 70's, Des Moines Water Works is putting its' stage 1 water conservation plan into effect. It calls for cutting water consumption by 10%. They pumped a record 95.6-million gallons yesterday. Among the conservation tips-water lawns before 6a.m., check your homes plumbing for leaks , and take shorter showers.
