For the second time this month Des Moines-area water utilities have issued a “peak water alert,” and they're asking customers to take a moment to think about how much water they're using and try to use less. The Des Moines Register reports the water utilities say they have enough water, but if the demand stays high, they may, for the first time in 30-years, ask the Army Corps to release water from the Saylorville reservoir.
