This morning's fire at Des Moines' Studebaker Elementary School won’t delay august 22nd's start-of-school. A district spokesperson says a contractor working on the building was doing welding, and that started the fire. Firefighters put it out quickly. There's no damage estimate, but the Des Moines Register reports the contractor will cover any repair costs.
