Drug Treatment Returns to Polk County Jail

After a 2-year absence, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council's bringing a residential drug treatment facility back to the Polk County Jail. The Des Moines Register reports the treatment program will be in the empty west wing of the jail and should be up and running by September 1st. Bridges of Iowa, a non-profit organization that handles long-term residential treatment and other support, is leasing the space from the jail to run the program.
