Des Moines fire officials say a flower pot spontaneously combusted, doing about $80,000 in damage to a home at 3111 E. 43rd Street yesterday afternoon. KCCI reports the pot was on the porch and flames spread up the front of the home into the attic. The Red Cross is helping the homeowner with temporary accommodations.
