BANK ROBBERS CAUGHT

Officers captured two suspects in a bank robbery in northeastern Iowa Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said two men held up the Maynard Savings Bank Tuesday morning at 11:15.

Police said the men were apprehended about 7 p.m. without incident.

A chase followed the robbery, ending near the town of Frederika where the suspects, two white males, ditched their vehicle and ran into a wooded area, which also included a rock quarry.

Police officers heard a noise near the area they were securing. They followed the noise and found the two men crawling, trying to get past officers.

Two officers were shot during the chase.
