Authorities believe a lightning strike started a fire this morning at a home west of the Des Moines metro in Menlo. According to ABC5 Menlo, Casey, and Guthrie Center firefighters responded to the scene, and say flames were shooting through the home's roof. One man was inside at the time and he was able to get out safely.
