Study on State Employee Pay Stirs Up Controversy

With the state getting ready for contract talks with its' unions, a consultant report today says the base salaries for almost 19-thousand state workers is 18% higher than their counterparts working for private and public employers. According to the Des Moines Register, the Aon Hewitt report also says when you take in minimum and maximum base pay, state workers are still competitive in the marketplace.
