The Des Moines metro's been doing very well when it comes to hospitality, with visitors pumping $1.8-billion into the economy, up 12.5% from the previous year; and adding over 400 new hospitality industry jobs in Polk and Dallas counties. The Des Moines Register reports among the events bringing people in last year-NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships, and the World Pork Expo.
