Troopers Honored

Two Iowa State Patrol troopers who were killed in the line of duty will be honored by having two bridges in southwest Iowa named after them. The bridges will be dedicated Thursday in honor of Troopers Lance Dietsch and Stan Gerling. The bridges are on US Highway 6 near Lewis. Both men were killed in 1989 in an airplane crash when they were searching for an elderly man who had wandered away from a nursing home.
