Des Moines fire crews were called to the area south of the State Capitol complex early this morning to put out fire in a homeless camp. Their work was tough because there weren't any fire hydrants near the fire scene, and KCCI reports there were also several propane tanks near the fire. A firefighter says it didn't look like there was anyone in the camp at the time of the fire.
