State Senator Pat Ward lost her battle with cancer this morning. Ward, a republican, represented the 30th District in Clive, since 2004. KCCI reports Ward served on the several committee's including Commerce, Environment and Energy Independence, and Judiciary. A special election's December 11th between Wards' current challenger, Desmund Adams, and a candidate that'll be picked by the GOP.
