The death of Des Moines Police K9 Harley, in a hot patrol unit in August, has led to a three day suspension for his human partner, officer Brian Mathis. The department says Mathis is still dealing with the loss, and going forward, won't be allowed another K9 partner. KCCI reports the department's looking at safety devices for units with K9's to make sure this doesn't happen again.
