Ankeny's City Council's voted 4-1, approving a contract to help Wild Rose Entertainment get a license for a casino, hotel, and entertainment project near I-35 and NE 36th Street. The Des Moines Register reports Des Moines Mayor and the Polk County Commission are expected to oppose the Ankeny plan. The county owns the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona.
