A new survey of bankers suggests worries about U.S. financial health have led to a slowdown in the economy in rural areas of the 10-Midwest and plains states. According to KCCI, the Rural Mainstreet index fell below 50, to 49.3 this month. Bankers surveyed are in rural areas of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
