Nobody's immure to taxes, even schools. The Iowa City School District was late paying its taxes by one day and got fined more than 25 thousand dollars. The IRS busted the district in July. District officials said the missed payment was in March. It was for the March 11 payroll, found on March 14, and sent to the IRS on March 15. The district is appealing the fine.
