NWS in Tight With Iwoa State Fair Staff

In the wake of what happened at the Indiana State Fair last Saturday night, officials at the Iowa State Fair say they've taken extra steps to keep fair goers safe. They say there have been tornadoes in August, and that could prove deadly at any state fair. Meteorologist Jim Lee with the National Weather Service here said he spends his time at the fair doing a little community outreach, but mostly keeping his eye on the sky. NWS keeps in very close contact with state fair officials, they say, to give as much warning as possible about possibly dangerous weather.
