The Franklin Avenue Library is getting ready for a grand opening, next week, after an 8.4 million dollar expansion and refurbishing project. It’s more than double the size, with a larger childen’s section, story time room, teen space and study rooms. The restrooms were upgraded, and there is now a drive through book return, free Wi-Fi and electric car charging stations. Important features patrons don’t see include more energy efficient heating and cooling and light fixtures.
