Des Moines Debates Gas Stations that Don't Sell Fuel

City leaders are considering new regulations that would keep businesses that have a majority of sales coming from liquor from opening in neighborhoods. Residents have registered their concerns that closed convenience stores and gas stations through out Des Moines are being turned into liquor stores and tobacco shops, attracting vandalism and graffiti. Members of the city’s Plan and Zoning Commission will debate ordinance proposals, starting at six o’clock in City Hall.
