Des Moines officials are considering raising the rates for parking in downtown garages on Saturday nights, bringing in close to $185,000 in new revenue. It would cost $3/vehicle after 4 p.m. at three city garages - Third and Court, Fifth and Walnut and 4th and Grand. Farmers Market parking wouldn't be affected. The Des Moines Register reports on-street parking meters and other city parking garages would stay free on Saturdays.
