The jury's been selected and the opening arguments have started in the case of the former director of the Iowa Film Office. Tom Wheeler faces at least nine counts of conspiracy, fraud and misconduct in office. Prosecutor charged in yesterday's opening statements that Wheeler illegally got hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax credits for film producers. The defense said their client did not gain anything and was honest as he ran the office alone. If he's convicted, Wheeler could be in prison for several years.
