A Des Moines man faces theft charges for allegedly removing walnut trees from federal property. The U.S. Attorney's office says 49-year old Randall Walker was indicted on five charges by a grand jury. The trees were alleged taken from River Place, Sycamore Area, Lake Red Rock and the Neal Smith National Wildlife Reserve. The trees, removed between January and April, are worth $40,000.
