2 Dogs Don't Make it Out of Morning House Fire

Firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze at 39th and School Streets, this morning. A neighbor noticed flames and called it in about 2:30. Fire crews were able to keep the fast moving blaze from spreading to the houses next door. The entire second floor became so engulfed, it dropped onto the first floor and into the basement. There were no injuries to residents, but two of the owner’s dogs died in the fire. Damages are estimated at 85-thousand dollars.
