Des Moines City Council members cleared the way for crews to start demolition of the vacant YWCA building, downtown. Dore and Associates Contracting, a Michigan firm, won the contract, and work was approved, last night. Council members are hoping once the site on Grand Avenue is empty, a redevelopment proposal will emerge.
