Bill would make teens practice driving longer

A new bill before the state legislature calls for twelve months of practice before new drivers are allowed to hit the roads. Current law says a parent must tag along for six months, and the new bill would double that time. Teens 16 and 17 would have to be accident and violation-free fro a year to qualify for a license that would allow them to drive along.
