Polk County Administrator Ron Olson is a finalist for city manager in Corpus Christi, Texas, the state where worked before coming to Iowa in 2007. Olson tells the Des Moines Register he's not unhappy in Iowa, and says he was approached by a recruiter about the Texas job a couple of months ago. He says he hasn't applied for any other jobs until now. Olson was a deputy city manager in Arlington, Texas, before heading north. He's earning $166-thousand a year here.
