M-RAP Saves Iowa Guardsmen in Afghanistan

Three Iowa National Guard soldiers wounded by a bomb in Afghanistan this week were spared more serious injury or death because they were riding in an M-RAP....a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected truck. The truck, a relatively small model called an M-ATV, is designed to deflect much of the force of a blast away from the its occupants. The trucks, which cost more than $1 million each, are equipped with automatic fire-suppression systems.
