Johnson County today passed a ban on weapons in county-owned buildings and other facilities. Board Chairman Pat Harney tells KCCI the county's not trying to take away someone's rights, but it is trying to make a safe environment. Harney says stickers and signs warning of the gun ban will be posted at county-owned buildings, facilities and parks. Iowa City passed a similar ban on city property earlier this week.
