An Iowa high school wrestler, defaulted on his 1st-round state tournament match today rather than hit the mat against Cassy Herkelman, one of the first girls to ever qualify for the event. The Des Moines Register reports Joel Northrup issued a statement saying his choice was based on conscience and faith, and his belief it's inappropriate for a boy to engage a girl in this manner.
