Football teams battling in court

Two rival Des Moines women's football teams are in a legal battle over alleged stolen playbooks and questionable recruitment tactics. William Grimes, head coach of the Iowa Thunder, is suing 10 former players who left the team to join the Iowa Xplosion. Grimes wants two players to pay $5,000 fines because he suspects they are using Iowa Thunder playbooks while playing for the Xplosion. Grimes also accused several women of slander and libel for making allegations that he misused team funds and lied to his players, in an effort to recruit others to the Xplosion.
