Pollock painting won't be sold, according to U of I

Amid rumors that the prized Jackson Pollock painting might be auctioned off, the woman who donated it to the University of Iowa says she wants it back and would find a new home for it. Donor Peggy Guggenheim wrote a letter to the university president saying many museums would like to have it and she would find a home for it. The university has assured Guggenheim it won't be sold. Iowa lawmakers are considering a proposal to sell the Pollock piece to fund scholarships. It was valued in 2008 at $140 million.
