The City of Des Moines looking for redevelopment proposals for an empty high-rise in downtown they're trying to acquire. The Des Moines Building at Sixth and Locust, was declared a public nuisance last month by City Council, and that allows the city to get a court order declaring the building abandoned and award its' title to the city. The Des Moines Register reports several developers have already contacted the city about the process being used to sell the property. Redevelopment costs are estimated between $15 million and $20 million.
